Up for sale is an antique 10 drawer apothecary cabinet constructed of five rows of two drawers, each having wooden pulls. What is unique about this cabinet is that the rows of drawers gradually get bigger/deeper as they get lower. Also, the top two rows of drawers have wood dividers inside, which divide each drawer into four small compartments. The third row of drawers is the last with dividers, and they only have one decider in each. The fourth and fifth rows of drawers contain no dividers. I'm selling this (and other items) on behalf of my mother, who is moving soon and in the process of decluttering. She purchased this antique cabinet for $400 approximately 25 years ago from Fraser's Antiques in Taftsville, VT. Included in the sale is the original Fraser's Antiques small item description/price card that my mom kept since purchase in the right top drawer. On this card it says that one drawer is a replacement, but I honestly can't tell which. You can tell this piece is old by the beautiful honey colored patina the exterior wood has. Overall, this cabinet seems well made to me; tight and sturdy, all the drawers open and close easily, and the dovetailed joints that run along both sides of the top surface are tight. I'm no expert, but I'd guess the wood is pine, because it is not heavy (<20 lbs), and that the age is 19th Century.
Measures: Height = 22.5" inches, Width = 19.75" inches, Depth = 12.5" inches with pulls included (11" without pulls)
Like many antiques, this cabinet has wear consistent with age and use. Please see all the pictures, because each side of the top, near the back, has imperfections, but particularly the left side, where it looks like a small bit of wood is missing. However, where it is missing looks like it may just be a knot in the wood, I don't know. Honestly, I think these imperfections only add character to the piece, and every imperfection is old and has a patina over it. Lastly, it already has four soft stickers on the bottom so it won't scratch your floors. If you have any questions, just ask, and please check out my other items. Thanks, Justin
